Fac-simile collection of maps and cartographical charts of the Portuguese discoveries collected in a monumental work in 5 volumes + index.It is the greatest typographical work produced by the Portuguese State in the period known as “Estado Novo”. Probably only 300 copies printed for the ‘offerings of state’ and concessions authorized by the Presidency of the Portuguese Republic.As mentioned by Prof. Alfredo Pinheiro Marques at the further 1987’s edition: ‘Portugaliae Monumenta Cartographica is without a shadow of doubt one of the greatest – if not the greatest – cultural achievement yet seen in Portuguese historio-graphy – and even in the international historiography of the field. When it was published  in 1960, it staked its claim immediatly as the most far-reaching historiographic and publishing venture yet undertaken in Portugal, and we must still consider it as the most monumental and perhaps significant cultural achievement in Portugal in the XXth century’.Weight of conditioned and wrapped parcel: 60kg max.
